The cost of pretreatment and the inhibitors from the lignin and polysaccharide decomposed hinder the process of bio-ethanol commercialization. Develop a one-pot process which refinery the lignin first to jet fuel using thermochemistry ways, and then use the residual (contain cellulose main portion) to converse bio-ethanol was benefits a lot. The enzyme hydrolysis and fermentation efficency of the left substrate were analyzed. After apple wood catalyzed by Ni and Ru/C for jet-fuel production the surface area and accessibility of cellulose increased and the Cr. I of cellulose I was improved, which led to the improvement of the efficency of enzyme hydrolysis. After catalyzed by Ni, the substrate enzymatic hydrolysis increase from 5.8% (the raw apple wood) to 88%. Low Ni concentration (0.4g/l ) was not inhibit the enzyme hydrolysis of the residual, but not the same effect of Ru/C. Ni was obvious inhibitor for yeast fermentation. Ru/C was not toxic to yeast fermentation in YPD. When carried on Q-SSCombF, the substrate ( including catalyst) inhibited a lot of yeast fermentation even catalyzed by Ru/C. When separate hydrolysis and fermentation was carried, the ethanol conversion of the fermentation of the substrate catalytic by Ni was improved from 33% to 75% and the result of Ru/C catalytic substrate was increased from 25% to 73%. Carry on jet-fuel and bio ethanol co-production from biomass was feasible, the catalyst in substrates was the main point of the process.
