Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Division (20) (PreRecorded+)
The interface between 2D-materials and their metal supports offers an ideal playground for exploring the effects of confinement in chemical reactions. Even more relevant is the case in which the 2D-materials have pores in their structure that allow size-selective access of small molecules to the confined space. In this talk, I will discuss recent work for reactions at the interface between 2D-porous silicates and transition metal supports. Examples of systems in which confinement plays an important role include the enhanced chemical interaction between Xe and Ru, and the formation of H2O by reaction of hydrogen with chemisorbed oxygen.
