Abstract
AdBlue, a hyperpure urea solution used for removal of NOx in diesel powered vehicles is widely available throughout the world. To maintain the efficiency of the catalyst, the impure metal ions should be strictly controlled.[1,2] In this work, the industrial grade urea is purified by the controlled suspension melt and cooling crystallization.[3] The metastable zone width of urea crystal was measured.[4,5] The crystal morphology control strategy was developed to obtain a rubust preparation route. With the optimized operation curve, the aspect ratio decreased from 8.5 to 4.5 and the quantity of urea crystal had been well controlled.
