TMPyP has drawn increasing attention owing to unique properties such as high photosensitivity, chemical stability and low toxicity. In this work, a novel method based on the TMPyP as the probe to detect 13 Longjing teas with various species, geographic origins and quality grades at low concentration is established. The advantages of both spectra are extracted and more useful information is contained by the proposed new method based on TMPyP effect of NIR-UV fusion. More importantly, it can greatly reduce the misclassification of single NIR or UV spectra. This work is the first report on the rapid and effective identification of so many Longjing teas at low concentration based on the TMPyP using data fusion of NIR-UV spectra, which also implies other potential applications on complex classification system with poor spectra information.
