Microreactors present an excellent micro-mixing characteristics due to the dimensional effects. A serial of novel configurations of the microreactors were constructed and the liquid-liquid mixing efficiency of the microreactors were investigated. The preparation of the nesquehonite whiskers were consequently conducted using microreactor with an optimal mixing performance. Design of coaxial microreactor with three typical configurations including serpentine microchannel, divergent-convergent microchannel, and straight microchannel was presented to solve the blocked problem and enhance the mixing characteristics. The results of visualization experiment indicated that the mixing conditions of microreactors were quantitatively characterized at different flow rate. Direct precipitation of nesquehonite was carried out in coaxial serpentine microreactor above mentioned at different flow rates and reactant concentrations. When the flow rate in the range of 2 mL·min-1~14 mL·min-1 and reactants concentration in the range of 0.1 mol·L-1~0.5 mol·L-1, nesquehonite whisker with a particle size in the range of 11.7 μm~62.8 μm were obtained.
