Description:
Pervaporation and vapor permeation have attracted attention for several decades due to the ability of these technologies to separate compounds based on combined sorption and diffusion characteristics. Despite this attention, these technologies are still generally regarded as “emerging” technologies. For these technologies to move to the “established” category, significant work lies ahead. In this session, recent developments along the path to “established” technology will be highlighted. Submissions covering advances in membrane materials, module design, process design/integration, hybrid processes, application-driven R&D, and transport fundamentals/theory/modeling are welcome.
