Polybenzimidazoles (PBI) are an important class of heterocyclic polymers that exhibit high thermal and oxidative stabilities. Due to an excellent various properties, PBI has been used a lot of fields such as nanotechnology, electrical engineering, optical science and material engineering. This work is focused on fabrication of meta-Polybenzimidazole(mPBI) and control of morphology according to concentrations or manufacturing conditions. Optimal concentration figured out through experiments. and other experimental conditions like solvent composition, washing method and retention time also compared with each group. The membranes were prepared via the phase inversion method from casting solutions with predetermined amounts PBI, dimethylacetamide (DMAc) and tetrahydrofuran (THF). The polymer solutions were cast on a clean glass plate by using casting knife. After that, The membrane was immersed in IPA to remove the residual solvent then, dried in vacuum oven for 24h. To observe a morphology, Scanning electron microscope(SEM) was used. In case of gas transport properties, Permeablity and selelctivity of this membrane about H2, CO2 was measured through pure gas.
