Detection of chemicals by charge Deep Level Transient Spectroscopy (QDLTS) method is surface dependent. Once a chemical is attracted to the surface, each chemical exhibits its own characteristic surface energy. The surface energy is then measured using the highly sensitive Q-DLTS method. In this work, we tested two materials; one was a diamond film and other was a polymer film. The charge deep level transient spectra of water, acetone, and lithium perchlorite were obtained at various temperatures. The spectrum of these chemicals were found to be dependent significantly on the type of surface and the pretreatment of the surface.
