Increasing legislative limitations and restrictions imposed for the world-wide organisms to the use of synthetic colorants, resulted renewed interest for colorants natural, that come back to have importance, and appear as possible substitutes in the industrial of foods, textile, others, diminishing the ambient impact and damages to the human organism. The marigolds, even so the flower extract is used as supplement in the feeding veterinary medicine, traditional form, is scarce and dull the available information in literature in terms of incomes, qualities, stability, security and applications. In this work he is demonstrated that to the method and extraction with supercritical fluid (SFE), using as solvent the supercritical CO2 is most efficient in the xanthophylls pigment extraction (96%). Also was used more two methods of extraction as the immersion and lixiviation with some changes. The used percentages of recovery of the solvents during the process had all been highly satisfactory, superior 80% in all the cases. The objective of this work is to determine the performance of extracts, using solvent (ethanol, among others), for methods of leaching and SFE, as well as the recovery of the solvents, and purification of lutein.
