Overcoming Fossil Fuel Roadblocks: Assessing Novel Materials, Waste-to-Byproduct Conversions and Environmental Impacts of Energy Generation

Monday, April 2, 2012: 9:45 AM
332 (Hilton of the Americas)

Description:
This session focuses on recent advances in the engineering of alternative fossil fuels such as oil shale and coal liquifaction that may overcome stumbling blocks to potential widespread commercialization. It includes new research on process development, product stability, byproduct recovery, carbon capture, and mitigating the environmental impact of fuel processing.
