Ankur Jariwala, Cameron, Houston, TX

Cameron understands the challenges in FLNG pretreatment which are mainly integration between pretreatment and liquefaction, size and weight  and overall energy consumption for the pretreatment and liquefaction process.

In this presentation, Cameron discusses the novelty process approach which is designed with compact and modular technology approach and can potentially reduce the overall energy requirements by 5-15% on the topsides. This represents significant savings by having more production throughput or smaller boat size. The process approach uses proprietary technology solutions using mercury removal bed, membrane process systems, proprietary amine and compact gas dehydration beds.

The process is largely driven by using hybrid process of using Cynara membrane followed by amine technology for CO2 and H2S removal. The unique property of Cynara membrane can provide significant cooling to the gas stream entering into liquefaction section providing much more cooler stream and there by reduces the overall chilling duty.  In this presentation, we discuss several process schemes and case studies showing various gas compositions and associated gas cooling effect this pretreatment section.
