The past few years have witnessed a number of unusual PSM citations and interesting court decisions interpreting OSHA’s Process Safety Management Standard. There have been citations for safety showers and ventilation systems not adhering to RAGAGEP as well as for resident maintenance contractors not having a written Mechanical Integrity program for equipment at the host facility.
Attendees will learn why OSHA interprets and enforces the PSM Standard to areas beyond what most of industy considers the bounds of its covered process. They will be provided explanations as to how OSHA justifies its reach and what steps they can take to ensure their facility will be ready for the next OSHA inspection. With this information, attendees will be able to assist their legal departments in preparing responses to any citations that may result.
