With its special architecture, fractal theory inspired from the nature and provides some novel concepts for smart reactor. Thus, in order to achieve the process intensification, the application of fractal theory for micro-reactor in CO2 conversion was investigated. two design of fractal micro-reactor were introduced as typical application. H-type fractal structure is considered as one of examples to design the double-plate microreactor, which put into the use of photocatalytic reaction of CO2, and another one is to put the Hilbert curve fractal concept into the gas-liquid microreactor design for CO2 homogeneous catalysis reaction. These designs can be realized by 3D printing technology for CO2 conversion at the mild conditions. The corresponding experimental data were given, which displayed its unique advantages on the mass transfer. As we expected, it will be an indispensable part of the future chemical engineering. From these applications, we can acquire the developments of the microreactor and are inspired to design more and more useful and novel fractal microreactors.
