This session includes presentations/papers addressing innovative designs or processes for smart and sustainable manufacturing. Presentations on novel methodologies for smart and sustainable designs, control systems, and operation of manufacturing processes are very appropriate. The novel concepts should conserve natural resources and eliminate, where possible air, water and soils pollution. Papers for sustainable manufacturing processes for waste minimization and by-products recovery through process intensification will be highly appreciated.
