The first wave of scaling up biorefineries has encountered many failures and luck luster performance. Such an experience has cast a negative image on the whole industry. Lessons learned about the scaling up of a first of a kind Biorefinery processes will be presented and successful recipes will be discussed.
The open innovation practices of some industries will be compared with the proprietary innovation of the bio refinery industries and contrasts and benefits of the two will be compared.
