393586 Thermodynamic Modeling of the Phase Behavior of Asphaltenes in Crude Oils

Francisco Vargas, Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, Rice University, Houston, TX

In this talk, the advances in modeling the complex behavior of asphaltenes in crude oil systems will be reviewed. The effects of asphaltene poly-dispersity on the phase stability and thermodynamic properties of crude oils will be discussed from experimental as well as modeling perspectives.
