Cold spray is a relatively recent coating technology, where coating can be formed only when the velocity of in-flight particles exceeds critical velocity. Therefore, the particle velocity at impact is the most important factor in cold spray process. In the present study, a DPV-2000 system was utilized to measure the velocity of in-flight particles. The effects of the pre-setting values of software parameters on the measured results of velocity of particles were investigated. It was found that the pre-setting values of software parameters influenced on the accuracy of measured results of velocity of in-flight particles.
