Particle acceleration processes in a nozzle have been clarified in cold spray. Mathematical modeling on the processes has been made based on a spherical particle in supersonic gas flow. We studied how particle morphology affects in-flight particle velocity in cold spray. Two types of powder morphology were used for the experiment, the one was spherical and the other was jagged. Those particle size distributions were almost the same. In-flight particle velocity of different particle shapes was measured with DPV-2000. It was found that the particle morphology greatly influenced on the in-flight particle velocity and deposit efficiency.
