Union Activism on the Streets and on Campus: The Faculty Forward Campaign in Chicago

Launched by the Service Employees International Union, Faculty Forward is the ongoing campaign aimed at unionizing adjunct faculty in Chicago. The campaign is part of a larger effort to increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour and support low-paid workers in different areas through collaboration. This presentation takes a look at the strategies of diverse and cross-sectional worker alignment and my involvement as a member of the Chicago Faculty Forward research team.
