Session Abstract
The Center for the New Historia is committed to using technology to connect today’s young women to the unknown female groundbreakers of the past. Our mission is to right the past and write the future. Our interactive website, in development, is dedicated to creating and preserving authoritative female biographies of women lost from the historical canon, now being recovered, whose works contributed to the female intellectual tradition and intellectual history broadly speaking. The New Historia’s latest initiative introduces feminist pedagogy to middle and high school students. Our participatory “Writing and Righting History” Workshops are part of a global revolution to uncover the undiscovered stories of real women. Our Workshop for Berks 2017 will demonstrate The New Historia’s unique classroom activities, feminist pedagogy, and digital platform.
