The question of whose bodies matter is central to the project of social justice. In today’s cultural climate, which bodies are seen as appropriate or inappropriate, in which context, can often be a matter of life and death. This presentation speculates on the degree to which this is also the case for the project of ecological justice. Taking a dialogic approach to the traditional conference paper, Natalie Loveless will lead a short conversation with Rachel Epp Buller and Christa Donner on the intersection of artistic, design, ecological, and maternal ethics, bringing a multi-species perspective to the question of ‘whose lives matter’ in the context of the Anthropocene.
