WETLAND WANDER is an art & science project in progress, led by wetland ecologist Fernanda Adame, sound artist Leah Barclay, and interdisciplinary artists James Cunningham and Suzon Fuks. It will be premiered on 11 August at the Griffith University Redzone.

WETLAND WANDER will have several outcomes including an immersive installation, showcases in public spaces, and an online presence. It will pay tribute to the beauty and ecological complexity of wetlands, focusing on those on South East and Far North Queensland, Australia.

It aims to inform a wide public and raise awareness, about their science and values of these ecosystems, in terms of Fernanda’s research on “carbon value” and Igneous' embodied experience and connection with surroundings.

For Balance/Unbalance 2018 we are proposing to have an online/onsite presentation of the project, with Fernanda explaining the carbon value and the carbon market, Leah presenting the process she used for the soundscape and James and Suzon will take people on a tour of the installation through audio-visuals. James and Suzon might be able to be present at the conference, otherwise at the location of the installation.

A collective paper will be written.
