Queersalis Emerging: Rasquache Printmaking

marimacha monarca press is a queer and trans people of color collective of artists and educators based on the south side of Chicago. Their practice is centered on rasquachismo, the act of overcoming material and professional limitations within private and public practices. marimacha monarca press engages with print media and organizes community workshops rooted in zine and print making as a means of self publication, communication, and reflection. In hopes of illuminating the power of writing our collective hxstories, they center queer, immigrant, and people of color narratives.
