This session examines the powerful role of women artists, gendered identities, and processes of cultural translation in a diverse array of Latin American contexts. Spanning geographically from New Mexico to the southern cone, and temporally across periods ranging from Baroque through contemporary art, these case studies encapsulate the myriad meaningful transcultural and gendered dimensions of art in the Americas.
