Visual analytics, the science of reasoning facilitated by interactive image processing interfaces, is employed to interpret Google Maps data. This leads to the assertion that the simultaneous impact of two eastward moving, immense objects created the Earth’s present land mass configuration and instilled its obliquity. The dual impacts and their immediate effects took place over a span of time measured in minutes. The mass extinction caused by the dual impacts places the event at least 65 million years before present. Boundaries and tectonic plates created by the simultaneous impacts remain seismically active as the planet continues to recover. This novel hypothesis replaces presently accepted assumptions and myths formed on inaccurate interpretations of previous, less complete information. This hypothesis is revolutionary to Geology: it advances understanding and reduces speculation.
