This presentation will give an introduction and overview of the EPA’s Study of Hydraulic Fracturing for Oil and Gas and Its Potential Impact on Drinking Water Resources. The report will cover the entire lifecycle of hydraulic fracturing operations: water acquisition, chemical mixing, well injection, flowback and produced water, and wastewater treatment and disposal, and is planned for public release in December 2015. The presentation will provide a summary of the progress to date, research approaches and questions addressed, and an overview of the technical inputs that support the synthesis report.
