Biographical Sketch: Dr. Belinda Kleinhans is associate professor of German at Texas Tech University with research interests in biopolitics in literature, cultural and literary animal studies, and issues of representation regarding memory, violence, and social justice in graphic novels. She is interested in how discourses of exclusion, discrimination and violence against (animal) others are expressed and countered in literature. She has published in the field of Literary Animal Studies and on Graphic Novels and the depiction of Holocaust.
