Biographical Sketch: Salvador Herrera is an Assistant Professor of Latinx Literature and Culture in the Department of English at the University of Oregon. His research focuses on border aesthetics, transgender identity, and queer feminist discourses of reproduction, as they coalesce around relational understandings of the erotic. He has published articles in Intertexts and Synapsis on issues of race, mediation, technology, medical rhetoric, and US militarism. He is currently developing a theory of queer transitivity that describes the creative potential of transformation inherent to life, a flowing force that escapes capitalist extractionism at a material level.
