Developing Breeding Tools using Whole Genome Sequences
With 100 chromosomes and higher genomic contents, common carp probably have the most complicated genome in main aquatic species. Some better results of whole genomic sequences assemble and whole genes annotation of common carp has been gotten. A high density genetic linkage map with more than 4800 markers has been constructed. With above genomic resources, some economic traits including quantitative traits and multiple gene traits such as growth rate, anti-disease, inter-muscular bones and lipase have analyzed. About 500 high explained variation QTLs including 490 QTLs of 9 phenotypes, 13 QTLs of inter-muscular bones, 5 QTLs of lipase were identified. And more, in these QTLs intervals, about 130 genes including 113 genes associated with body length, body weight etc 9 phenotype traits, 5 genes associated with lipase and 12 genes linked with bone occurring for inter-muscular bone were determined by blasting candidate sequences of QTL interval to the gene pools of zebrafish on NCBI, also some genes associated with anti-diseased traits were found.
