Ovocalyxin-32 (OCX-32) gene is located chromosome 9 in chicken, and involved in the formation of the eggshell. The objective of this study was to analyze the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the OCX-32 gene and egg production trait in chickens. We performed candidate gene analysis to genotype the SNPs c.267T>G, c.381.G>C, and c.494A>C of OCX-32 gene in 100 White Leghorn (WL) and 100 Korean native Ogol chicken (KOC) population. Statistical analysis showed that c.267T>G was significantly associated with egg production in WL (p<0.01) and KOC (p<0.05) and c.494A>C was significantly associated in KOC (p<0.05). But there was no significant association in the c.381.G>C that was the most significant in the previous report. These results suggest that the c.267T>G and c.494A>C SNPs located in the OCX-32 gene could be used as a genetic selection marker in Korean chickens.
