Plenary Lecture: Tae-Jin Yang - "Genome Sequence and Evolution of Panax Ginseng"

Professor of Genomics, Genomics-Assisted Breeding for Industrial Crops, Department of Plant Science, CALS, Seoul National University, KOREA

Tae-Jin Yang is an associate professor in the department of plant science at Seoul National University since 2006. Before 2006, he worked as researcher in rural development administration, Korea, for 10 years. During the time, he trained as postdoctoral researcher at Arizona genomics institute for 4 years. He studied and got master and Ph.D. degree at Seoul National University.

His research interests are on the plant genomics, evolution, molecular breeding and NGS-based high-throuput plastid genome sequencing and phylogenomics. He involved in genome sequencing of rice, Brassica crops and now focusing on genome sequencing and evolution of Panax ginseng. He developed novel NGS-based pipeline for high throuput complete sequencing of plastid and nrDNA, simultaneously, which is useful for phylogenomics.
