Evaluating and Improving The Chick Genome and Transcriptome With Next-Gen Sequencing Data

I will discuss some approaches being taken to recover missing regions of the current chick genome assembly from next-generation sequencing data, using an approach called digital normalization.  I will also present a pipeline for combining multiple RNAseq data sets with existing gene annotations in order to improve the chick transcriptome.
