The main purpose of this research was to study the genetic relationship of 10 maize (Zea Mays L.) accessions, detect their salt tolerance level, and then choose the best parents for maize salt-tolerance breeding. Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) molecular markers were used to analyze eight inbred lines and two hybrids. Twenty pairs of SSR primers were used to amplify the 10 maize accessions, and the corresponding SSR fingerprint was obtained to collect 0, 1 data. The method of NJ cluster analysis was performed to construct the dendrograms. Meanwhile, the influence of NaCl on maize growth was detected, with the concentration of NaCl solution of 0, 100, 200 and 300mmol/L respectively. The salt stress experiment was conducted in greenhouse. Phenotypes including plant height, super oxygen dehydrogenises (SOD) activity and peroxidase (POD) activity were measured as the reference data of salt tolerance. The relationships of the 10 maize accessions were identified, and combined with the plant height and the results of enzymatic activity that 6 salt-tolerant maize accessions were chosen, with the name of Xianyu335, Zhengdan958, LH214, LH204, 83IBI4 and LH204 respectively.
