RosBREED is a national USDA NIFA SCRI funded project dedicated to enabling Marker-assisted Breeding (MAB) in Rosaceae. The Pedigree-Based Breeding Information Management System (BIMS) is a collection of web-based breeding assistant tools aimed at: (1) helping breeders to manage and utilize the vast amount of breeding information generated from the project, and (2) providing seamless transition between the different RosBREED Marker Assisted Breeding  Pipeline stages.  Hosted on the Genome Database for Rosaceae (GDR, www.rosaceae.org) through the Breeders Toolbox  we  outlines the  current progress and future  functionality of BIMS.

Currenty, the Breeders Toolbox in GDR serves as an information warehouse for RosBREED Breeding Programs  to upload, archive, browse, search, and download   phenotypic and genotypic breeding data and generate input files for direct input into the Pedimap and FlexQTLTM  analysis programs.   Beyond these basic functionalities, the Trait Locus Warehouse, Technology Portfolio, and Cross Assist have also been developed in the Toolbox to provide breeders with assistance in searching for available marker-trait-locus associations, technology providers, and planning crosses. Finally, further planned module development is outlined  and discussed in the poster.
