Screening of SSR Primers and Evaluation of Salt Tolerance in 20 Sweet Sorghum Varieties as Energy Sources
Screening of SSR Primers and Evaluation of Salt Tolerance in 20 Sweet Sorghum Varieties as Energy Sources
Date: Monday, January 14, 2013
Room: Grand Exhibit Hall
Twenty sweet sorghum varieties as energy sources were used as materials to study their tolerance to salt stress. The results showed that the germination potential, germination rate and plant height were inhibited with the increasing concentration of NaCl. In the 20 varieties, Kam sweet 2 and Jin sweet 09-1 had the strongest salt tolerance, whereas L0206A/LTR116 and TGL were sensitive to salt stress. Using SSR molecular marker technology, 19 SSR primers were screened with polymorphism in the above mentioned 4 varieties. Primer AH24 showed obvious complementary band between the highest salt tolerance and most sensitive varieties, which could be used to distinguish the salt tolerance of the varieties.
