The journey of PhenoFab® to capture digital phenotypic traits started in a few crops and is now successfully translated to commercial relevancein a wide range of crops. PhenoFab has worked with more than 26 crops on different traits like drought, variation in growth speed, biomass development, architectural differences, climate regimes, NUE, WUE, uptake of nutrition from substrate to the plant, effects of chemicals on plant growth and more. The combination of technical advancements using the PhenoFab facility and the genomics and biological know-how from KeyGene enabled the success of PhenoFab projects. Various projects from companies and academic organizations have been executed which resulted in a significantly increased practical experience with high breeding and commercial relevance at PhenoFab.

We believe that sharing experiences and learning from user’s feedback and experience is crucial for future developments to be able to do high quality phenotyping and best serve the phenotyping community. In light of this vision we will present a couple of examples of crops that were phenotyped on PhenoFab for their growth curve analysis. We will present how the captured digital phenotypic data is exploited to analyze the trait differently;explaining the game changing role of data analysis in trait elucidation.
