Gene expression profiling via RNA-Seq was used to test a novel theory of aging.  The biological evidence in support of the theory and the results of the gene expression profiling will be described.  Analysis using the iPlant Discovery Environment (DE) and the Tuxedo2 analysis package will be presented.  This analysis approach demonstrates that the iPlant DE can be used efficiently for RNA-Seq analysis pipelines for plant or animal systems, and that iPlant can provide efficient storage and handling of the data and results.
