A novel aspect of the Arabidopsis Information Portal is its modular, open source design philosophy that will allow members of the international Arabidopsis community to contribute user interface and data integration code, as well as provide their own sources of biological data. A prototype version of the portal will be demonstrated, showing such functionalities as provision of gene locus pages, integration of expression data, use of the Jbrowse platform, and interoperability with the iPlant cyberinfrastructure. The technical road map for the project will be presented and the current state of development efforts will be discussed.
