Over the past several decades the scientific community has seen, and continues to see, astonishing growth in the amount of ‘omic’ data that can be generated at relatively low cost. Given the wealth of data available to researchers, it has become increasingly important to develop ways of processing, interpreting, and integrating that information to gain the most from it possible. Using a computational approach that employs Bayesian methods and machine learning for analysis and visualization provides a powerful tool in understanding the mechanisms underlying complex responses observed in ‘omic’ datasets; however, the ability to utilize such analysis and modeling techniques are in many cases cost, expertise, or resource limited. In an effort to increase the accessibility of such computational resources to members of the farm animal research community, and to expedite genomic and proteomic discovery therein, the University of California at Davis has teamed with Seralogix, LLC, to form the Animal Systems Biology Analysis and Modeling Center (ASBAMC). Through the ASBAMC, selected research projects are offered not only cutting-edge data analysis services, but also support in experimental design to optimize the analytical results and support in interpreting the results obtained. These tools are offered as a service at no cost to the selected projects. For additional details, please visit: http://asbamc.org
