GAPIT is an R package developed as a Genome Association and Prediction Integrated Tool (GAPIT). The package implemented the compressed mixed linear model (CMLM) and CMLM-based genomic prediction for high statistical power and accuracy. Efforts have been made to improve computation efficiency and provide a user friendly environment. Since its public release and publication on Bioinformatics in 2012, continued improvements have been applied. These included experiment design functions such as statistical power analysis and cross validation. The interface to access these functions was illustrated for using both the internal and external methods of genome-wide association study and genomic prediction.
