Get a first look at DNA Subway's integrated system for genome analysis and distributed annotation. The new Green Line provides a simple workflow to analyze RNA-Seq experiments, the most popular and accessible whole genome datasets. The workflow makes use of high performance compute resources of NSF’s Extreme Scientific and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE), providing the first readily available "on ramp" to biological supercomputing. Locally generated RNA-Seq data is seamlessly transferred from the Green Line to the upgraded Red Line -- an integrated annotation and browser system built on the JBrowse system. This creates a “power desktop” that allows students to explore large-scale variation in gene expression and genome structure on their personal computers.
