EPIC CoGe: demonstration
Date: Sunday, January 12, 2014
Time: 12:25 PM
Time: 12:25 PM
Room: Town and Country
This workshop will demonstrate the completion of all the goals of the initial EPIC-CoGe project. EPIC-CoGe is a collaboration between EPIC and CoGe to develop and easy to use web-based system to store, access, and visualize Arabidopsis epigenetic data. The EPIC-CoGe Browser consists of: (1) A data storage subsystem that can store thousands of epigenetic experiments and provide rapid access to those data. (2) A web-based visualization subsystem that permits overlaying and partitioning of epigenetics data on genomic data. (3) A user interface subsystem to allow researchers to (a) Find and select sets of epigenetic experiments for visualization; (b) Customize how to mesh and visualize their selected epigenetics experiments. This workshop will show demos of all these features along with additional support for other types of functional and diversity genomics data. Information about EPIC-CoGe can be found at: http://genomevolution.org/r/91v2, a tutorial on using the system: http://genomevolution.org/r/9360, and a demonstration video showing the loading of a new genome with structural annotation, expression, diversity, and read mapping data for private viewing in JBrowse in under three minutes: http://www.youtu.be/JPZ8IrPnh_8
