Discussion and Closing Remarks

The buffalo is of major economic importance on a global scale and the work carried out on the buffalo genome in 2013, together with the workshop on the buffalo breeding held in Manila in November, provide the starting point to apply new knowledge to buffalo management and improvement.  Presentations in the buffalo workshop this year show the breadth of work underway and will hopefully encourage further work on buffalo genomics and genetics.
