The Arabidopsis Biological Resource Center has been serving the worldwide plant research community for the past 20 years by collecting, propagating, maintaining, and distributing resources of Arabidopsis thaliana and other plant species. Our resources are comprised of almost 1,000,000 stocks distributed to more than 25,000 researchers from diverse disciplines. Many of the approximately 100,000 stocks distributed annually are from our large collections of T-DNA lines that are imperative for reverse genetics studies, as well as natural accessions, characterized mutants, vectors, full-length clones and education kits. The education kits represent our solution to address the current gap in plant biology knowledge for students of all ages, from kindergarten to the undergraduate college level. The ABRC is also actively working to obtain donations of new resources that have great relevance to the scientific community. These new resources include seed lines with targeted gene mutations generated by using the CRISPR/Cas system, amiRNA resources, and TF ORF clone collections. Furthermore, we have been moving toward expanding our collection to also have non-Arabidopsis resources that are of high interest and value to researchers. Understanding that antibodies are a crucial resource that is costly to generate, led us to partner with the Plant Antibody Facility (PAF), which collects and distributes high-quality plant-specific antibodies. Ordering and stock information for ABRC and PAF can be found at http://abrc.osu.edu/order-stocks and http://paf.osu.edu/, respectively.
