Most studies of foodborne pathogens analyze pathogenicity using physiological and molecular techniques. However, microbial genomics and bioinformatics have extended our understanding of virulence factors at the genomic level. In this study Staphylococcus aureus, an important food-borne pathogen that causes a diverse diseases ranging from minor infections to life threatening conditions in humans and animals is reveales. Genome of food borne bacteria sequenced by Pacific Biosciences RSII sequencer and genome annotation using Rapid Annotation using Subsystem Technology (RAST). Compared the genome data with previously published strains using several analysis methods. Also the detection and characterization of virulence factors would provide information useful for epidemiological surveys and also for the development of novel biomarkers for the rapid detection of this pathogen in foods.
