Due to the variation and mutation of  the races of Pseudoperonospora cubensis, downy mildew has in recent years become the most devastating leaf disease of cucumber worldwide. Novel resources of resistance against downy mildew has been identified in different breeding lines of Cucumis species. After the successful hybridization between breeding  lines (S6 and S7) of cucumber (C. sativus L.) a mapping population has been generated for QTL analysis of downy mildew resistance. Additionally, GBS (gentype based sequencing) was aplied for F2 mapping lines.
