Predictive Phenomics at Iowa State

Date: Wednesday, January 14, 2015
Time: 10:50 AM
Room: Pacific Salon 3
Patrick S. Schnable , Iowa State University, Ames, IA
An experiment with getting engineers, computer scientists, and plant biologists together once a week at the Plant Sciences Institute at Iowa State (http://plantsciences.iastate.edu/) developed into a campus initiative focused on measuring plant phenotypes well and deeply enough that crop performance would ultimately become a predictive exercise. The ongoing activities at the PSI and the challenges inherent in creating productive interdisciplinary collaborations will be discussed.
