The complexity in intra-specie variability of the maize genome is a major challenge for researchers aiming at understanding the effect of genome content on the maize phenotype.
By using NRGENE’s GenoMAGIC computational platform, NRGene’s scientists were able to de-novo assemble three maize genomes and compare their genomic content. The talk will feature a detail discussion about the nature and scale of the differences between the genomes and a description of the analysis system that was used. NRGene is aiming at allowing multi-genome comparison for any crop including heterozygote and ploy-ploid crops. The road map for such future development will be presented.
