With the 8.5 version of CLC Genomics Workbench we have released two new plugins that are free to registered users of the software. First, called “Histone ChIP-Seq”, enables analysis of chromatin immunoprecipitation data that has broader, less-well defined coverage peaks, compared to transcription factor ChIP-Seq that can be analysed with our existing epigenomics tool.

The second plugin is for analysis of whole genome methylation data produced by bisulfite sequencing. It enables base-level detection of cytosine methylation in a configurable range of contexts, including the non-canonical ones typically observed in plant genomes. It also detects differential methylation using three different statistical methods suitable for variety of experimental designs. We have conducted benchmark studies, and will show that our bisulfite mapping algorithm significantly outperforms the popular tools in terms of speed, efficiency and accuracy of mapping. Up to 30% more reads are accurately mapped with the CLC mapper compared to bismark, and in a fraction of time, especially on multicore architecture.

Finally, we will present an example of the arabidopsis datasets that show how one can integrate various x-omics analyses in one workbench.
