P1307Identification of SNPs Associated with Wheat Quality and Agronomic Traits for KASP Conversion
Identification of SNPs Associated with Wheat Quality and Agronomic Traits for KASP Conversion
The most common type of sequence variation in the genome was single nucleotide ploymorphisms (SNPs). Recently, wheat 90K and 660K SNP chips were available and dramatically improved the construction of high-density linkage maps and QTL analysis in bread wheat. A few studies were found to analyze agronomic traits, seed morphology, grain yield, disease resistance and yellow pigment content by a genome-wide association study or QTL with the 90K iSelect SNP genotyping assay in wheat. In this study, we performed Genome-wide associated study (GWAS) and QTL analysis using the wheat SNP chips. A number of QTLs of target traits were identified including wheat quality traits and agronomic traits, such as yellow pigment content, and polyphenol oxidase activity, Mixograph, RVA and Mixolab parameters and thousand kernel weight (TKW), plant height (PH), spike length (SL), kernel number per spike (KNS), spikie number/m2 (SN), normalized difference in vegitation index (NDVI). Meanwhile, we also obtained quite a few of SNPs tightly associated with the QTLs of interest. Our next work is to transfer the SNPs into KASP (Kompetitive Allele Specific PCR) markers. This will help to perform not only marker assisted selection in wheat breeding program but also fine mapping of target QTL for map-based cloning of genes.
